Founder, Roxanne Brant 1943-1986
For 18 years, God used Roxanne to bring life, encouragement and healing to the body of Christ. Her deep love and commitment to the Word of God brought keen insight and illumination to congregations around the world. Many others have been blessed through cassette teachings, television appearances and the 17 books she authored as well as the two much needed and timely video teaching series: How to Know God's Will and How To Test Prophesy, Preaching and Guidance. Hundreds of ministers and their families found in Roxanne a fellow minister who truly understood the challenges of the pastoral ministry and a friend who cared enough to pray long after the local church crusades had ended.
Roxanne was born to a highly respected family and grew up with many social advantages. She was seriously considering a career as a concert pianist or medical doctor when she met the risen Christ in a university library. As a result, her goals were changed and she began serious preparation to serve the Lord in the ministry. She studied at Harvard Divinity School, Boston University, School of Theology and received her Master of Divinity degree from Gordon Divinity School. She also held an earned doctorate in theology and an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree.
After Roxanne's graduation from seminary, her ministry quickly grew from one desk where she typed her first and still most popular book, Ministering To The Lord. Invitations to minister began to increase. God used her ministry to literally breathe new life into many churches, causing them to catch the vision and reach out to the lost and hopeless. Literally hundreds of thousands of people have been born again, filled with the Holy Spirit and healed in her world-wide crusades. Sensing her dedication to the Lord, many people committed their lives to Christian Service.
A very vital part of Roxanne's vision for the ministry was the development of Northern Florida Christian Center on 240 acres of land near O'Brien Florida. The Center served as the international offices for Roxanne Brant Ministries, and has become home for a number of families who have been called by God to work closely with the ministry. As part of her vision for the area, Roxanne brought in gifted, anointed, men and women of God for monthly teaching seminars. She had a strong desire to see Christians mature through these seminars and teaching aids. Roxanne believed everything should be done as unto the Lord and that believers should study to show themselves approved unto God, rightly dividing the word of truth (II Timothy 2:15)
Another part of Roxanne's vision for Northern Florida Christian Center was to provide temporary housing for furloughing missionaries and weary pastors who needed a quiet place to get away and rest to be refreshed in body, mind and spirit. That vision is reality today. God's servants who have used the facilities at the Center have been ministered to in a quiet atmosphere and have sensed the presence of the Lord from the moment they came on the grounds.
On November 27, 1986 Roxanne H. Brant went home to be with the Lord. Today, Roxanne is in the presence of her Lord whom she so dearly loved and faithfully served. We who knew and love her have deep appreciation for her life and ministry. |
